Description
The coin is circular, with a raised rim on both the obverse and reverse sides. The edge of the coin is notched.
Obverse
At the top is a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus; in the center is an image of a stork standing on the base of a semicircular decorative composition (the image of the earth-nurse), including symbols of family, motherhood, children and the sun; below them are indicated: the year of minting (on the silver coin - the alloy standard) and the denomination: 20 RUBLES (on the silver coin) and 1 RUBLE (on the copper-nickel coin); at the top in a circle is the inscription: REPUBLIC OF BELARUS.
Reverse
In the center, against a background of ornamentation, is an image of a child in baptismal attire, standing above a font. Across the shirt is a pad-printed cross. Above are the figures of two angels and a dove. At the bottom, in a circle, is the inscription: "Christians."
